First a little about me. I am Christopher Hearns. I was born November 13, 1984. I graduated from Eisenhower high school in 2003 and have been attending Davenport Univeristy since, working on a degree in computer networking and security. I work at the Clinton-Macomb Public Library Main branch. During the summer I golf a lot, but when it starts to get cold, I get right to work on my other hobby, that being christmas lights.
Website: The website took a little bit of time to make, but it wasn't too hard. I am hosting the site on hostmonster.com. Purchasing the domain name "hearnschristmas.com" and signing up for a two year hosting contract with hostmonster cost about $90 dollars.
Christmas Lights: I use mostly mini-lights. 100ct strings, some commerical grade and some non. Difference between commercial and non-commercial are that commercial can connect 6 strings together and non-commercial only 3 strings.
Light-O-Rama: LOR for short is the name of the device I used to control my christmas lights. It allows me to control the lights from a computer. LOR also comes with software that allows you to preprogram a show which can be synced with or without music.
FM Transmitter: Since I am syncing the show to music, I need a means to reach you with the music. An FM transmitter allows you to transmit the music out over the airways. Simply choose a channel, like 105.3 FM and plug the sound output into the transmitter. All someone needs to do is be in close proxmity to the house and have their car radio turned to the station.
